It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas – it’s Wooly Week! If you’re new to Señor Wooly, you may not have heard of this holiday season in the Spanish teaching world. If that’s the case, allow me to introduce you!
Wooly Week is when Señor Wooly rolls out new content and teaches you about how you could use it. The name is a bit misleading – it’s not just one week. In fact, this year, I think it’s spanning several. It’s usually around the end of February!
It’s basically a teacher’s dream. Or at least, this teacher’s dream. It’s like the best conference you’ve ever been to, but you don’t have to fly anywhere, or pay for hotels, AND they give you lesson plans, activities, and all the materials you need to teach amazing lessons for 1-2 weeks (your choice) AND there’s time for questions and reflections about the different activities in a Facebook group for Sr. Wooly teachers. OH, and it’s included in the cost of your pro membership to his site. (Not sure if that’s worth it? Check my post out here!)
Quite honestly, if I had to pay extra to be able to participate in Wooly Week I would. Just watching the activity videos last year was some of the best professional development I’ve ever had! I was able to take several of the activities they introduced to me and re-use them in other units. Kids love them, I love them, and there was just a lot of fun involved too!
If you’re able to, I definitely advise taking the time to participate in Wooly Week! They offer great ideas for introducing and interacting with stories, plus being able to reflect and share with a community of teachers is great to help you grow!
