  10. Lori Zarate –

I love using this type of puzzle for the kids. It makes them think about the form of the verb that should be used.

There is an error in puzzle 1 — the kids found them! The first sentence says “Yo vas” and the second says “Tu’ voy”. Just a heads up.

    • Ashley Mikkelsen –

Hi! Those are purposeful errors or “dead ends” built into the maze so they don’t go that direction. They’re also used to extend the activity in the second version. Just drop me a q&a if you have any questions.

  11. Vanessa T. –

I tried this activity with my 3rd grade Spanish student (tutor) it was challenging for her and gave her a lot of assistance. I realize it was for grade 6 and above but thought I’d try it. It would be more successful for the age given but I don’t mind having my student be stretched.

  47. Mallory S –

I absolutely love this activity and the way that it gets students engaged! This is probably one of my least favorite units to teach because it feels like there are only so many things you can do (maps, etc) and activities can get redundant, but it’s also important to get students practicing the “ir + a” along with the proper vocabulary for the unit. This exercises allows students to practice in a more fun (and independent/student-centered) way and with peers.

  48. LaDocenteSonriente –

Great way to review the verb ir. The pictures are great because students can figure them out even if we haven’t gone over those specific words before.

My students love anything that feels like a puzzle, so this activity is perfect! The pictures really help to build comprehension without using English. I love that there are 2 versions included depending on how much time I have in class or how in depth I want students to go on this activity. Great way to include differentiation.
