Description
Seasonal and fun! This listening activity goes with “Gratitud” by Fonseca (free on Youtube!). Students listen to the song and fill in the missing words in a cloze activity. There are two options for this part: with, or without a word bank.
Then, students complete practice activities talking about gratitude and what they are thankful for, using some of the phrases found in the song.
Finally, they can write notes to their family, friends, or teachers telling them what they are thankful for. Answer key is included for the cloze sheet. Great for Dia de Accion de Gracias!
The cloze and gratitude writing activities are included for use with Google Slides.

This worked very well with my Spanish 1B 7th and 8th grade students. It was a simple, easy way to explore the topic of gratitude and review ways of expressing it. It also prompted students to search out new words and expressions that applied to their individual situations. Students enjoyed sharing the activity with each other, and I enjoyed sharing it with their parents when they came in for parent-teacher conferences.
