    I really like having a “Calendar Time” at the beginning of class to get my students starting talking and cover this vocabulary in context. My students like telling me why today is special. These slides feel like a good foundation for this activity. I wish there were more slides — a few weeks into the semester and we’ve already moved through a lot because these are topics they’re familiar with to some degree from their exploratory classes. I’m glad to have this slideshow to build upon and edit to meet my students needs. One thing I would change — my students thought “mal” meant “mad” because the emoji looks angry. I changed it to one that just looks unhappy (partial frown face).

    Start of Spanish Class Routine Slides- I am currently using the Calendar Talk and the Weather Talk as a Warm Up/Start of the class routine. I project it into a wall so it is BIG, and use it as part of TPRS. I will continue using it for most of this semester. It is a great way to begin the class, students can follow along.

    I use this slideshow as an “opener” in Spanish 2 & 3 during distance learning as a way to get kids comfortable unmuting themselves and to take attendance and spark convo in the first few minutes of class. I know this creator used to teach levels 1 and 2, so my only suggestion would be to have more options written out for weather for the upper level classes such as, it’s cloudy/foggy/rainy/snowy, etc. as opposed to just “hace calor/frio, buen/mal tiempo”. Overall, I’d purchase again!
