Word Wall
I love adding word walls to support my students with a visual, and this word wall is an easy way to decorate your classroom – just print and go!
You can have students reference this as they come in or leave class – have them say “Hi!” and “Bye!” on their way in and out!
Saludos y Despedidas Spanish Vocabulary Games
Here are a few vocab games you can play with your students to review greeting and farewell vocabulary in Spanish:
- ยกCorre en Cรญrculos! Scavenger Hunt
- WordWall – find the match
- Bamboozle Game
- Quizlet Set
- Boom Cards – play individually or project for your class!
If you are new to ยกCorre en Cรญrculos! you can learn more about the scavenger hunt style game here. It can feel a little overwhelming the first time you try it, but it is so fun and students love getting up and moving around!
Boom Cards are a digital task card site. Just post the fast pin link and students can play! You can also print these cards and use them like task cards, if you prefer. Here’s a printing tutorial in case you need one.
Listening Activities
I always think it’s great to include listening when your students are practicing, especially when they are novices getting a feel for how the language sounds! Here’s a few saludos y despedidas Spanish vocabulary activities to reinforce their listening skills:
- Patricia + Alejandro (Google doc activity I found in a FB group!)
- Boom Cards – listen & put the conversation in order
- Introduce Yourself – I wish this one didn’t have the subtitles on! You could always play it without projecting the video and have students put names in order as they hear them.
- Greetings – formal & informal
