I found this resource to be difficult to edit and it did not include a format that I could use. I feel that I wasted my money on this resource and would like a refund.
Ashley Mikkelsen –
Hi Melissa! What format were you unable to use? Both Google Slides and Powerpoint are included in your download, with instructions for each. My email is also included in the download in case you have questions, and there’s always the Q&A feature here on TPT as well. I wish you would have let me know that you needed additional support! I’m not sure what other program you might have used to edit this other than the 2 programs included, but if you tried something else, that might have been the issue. Happy to help if you just reach out!

Love, love, love this resource! Clear, concise, well-organized, and well-written. I only had to tweak a couple of things (ex. the grading weights), but it was super easy to edit. Instead of reading it to the students at the beginning of the year, we played a game of Scavenger Hunt. They were super engaged and it was easy for them to find the info quickly on here! Thank you! I’m going to use this template for years to come.
Cristina E. –
easy to use when you need to do it as well as many other things at the same time!
Keri C. –
I purchased this syllabus originally because I liked the formatting.. it is a lot more attention-grabbing than the regular syllabi that we get used to seeing. I appreciated all of the different categories that were already there, because then all one has to do is personalize it with your own information. I am not the most savvy when it comes to anything computers, but with that said, I had a pretty easy time editing it. I appreciated that I could change the icons as well to fit my own choices. Overall, I am very pleased and plan on using it for my classes.
Sylvette R. –

Monica T. –
I’m afraid i spent more time adjusting the percentage to zoom than the actual syllabus. It became nerve wracking. The idea and outline is cute, but I just didn’t have the patience.
Ashley Mikkelsen –
Hi! I’m not sure which program you chose to edit with, but on Slides, there is a drop down menu so you don’t have to zoom in and out, you just select it, no need to fiddle. It’s in the top menu bar, under the magnifying glass, or under View>Zoom>(select option). I hope that helps you in the future!
ESL Village –

lauren.holder –

I loved this template. I did have some difficulty being able to zoom in to see certain sections but the could be my own fault….maybe something I don’t know in slides. Great graphics and fonts!
Ashley Mikkelsen –
I’m so glad you loved it! In Slides, in the toolbar at the top there is a little magnifying glass to help you zoom. Once you’re at the zoom you want, select the cursor from the toolbar (otherwise it’ll just keep zooming you in and out!). I hope that helps!

La Profe Organizada –
I love this template! I am teaching Spanish 1 for the first time this year in a LONG time and wanted something different for my syllabus. This is adorable and fits my needs. I do not use 50/50 for grading categories, but I do only have 2 separate categories, so I just eyeballed where the make the line I needed. I had never used PowerPoint to make a document like this (I had always used Word) and WOW! It seems so much easier with the text boxes, etc. Highly recommend!
Haley H. –
Loved the visual appeal of this syllabus. I was able to edit it to use for my classes this year. I have been looking for a way to jazz up my syllabus and this was perfect. As others have said, it was difficult to edit the pie chart for my grading categories, but I was finally able to make it work. Other than that one issue everything else was great! Thanks!
Nicholas A. –

Cheryl A. –
The template was editable, but I was unable to change the percentage for grading. Very well done and good quality. I created my syllabus using this; however, I changed to follow a fellow colleague in the department. Overall well done.
Ashley Mikkelsen –
Hi Cheryl! Thanks for your feedback. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the update since your review, but I now have a few, pre-formatted pie charts off to the side of the page to help make the process even easier. There’s a 50/50, thirds, and quarters in case you split up categories in different ways. I hope that helps!
La Belleza de Enseñar – The Beauty of Teaching –
I love the look of this syllabus! The images and overall layout made syllabus day much less boring! Everything is completely editable, so you can change it to meet the needs of your students.
Denise O. –
This syllabus was denied by the community college.
Ashley Mikkelsen –
I’m sorry to hear that! In my experience, when working with higher education they often have very specific requirements as to what you must include. I’m not sure of your specific situation and their specific requirements, but it is editable, so hopefully in the future you can tweak it to your (and their!) needs.
Thanks!
Ashley

Not as practical as I expected, you have to download the fonts and then fix the format on the powerpoint because the text is all out of place.

It is on my list of things to do to update with a Google Slides version soon, so hopefully that will help improve the practicality for you! Thank you for your feedback!
