Get your students moving with this activity! Students answer the prompt, then find the answer around the room. When they find the answer, they go to it, and complete the next prompt, repeating until they have completed the circle! Some students like to race to see who can finish the loop fastest, others work at their own pace. Students can begin at any prompt and practice, checking their work as they go.

    I taught my high school students how time is told in Spanish, which is how I learned it as a child in English: quarter of one; 5 till twelve, etc.
    This gallery walk (how I used it) was super and I used it for my evaluation. I even had my administrator paired up with a student. His name was on the roster and he took a picture of it. He loved it.
    I highly recommend this activity. They can do it solo or in pairs, with or without notes.
    It is self grading as they will come back to the first card if done correctly. If not, they have to go back and figure where they went wrong.

(I used bamboo garden stakes to put the cards around the back yard at the school). They are a great way to practice focused topics and are self-checking. I wouldn’t do this type of activity all of the time since it does take a while from start to finish, but it is great for variety of practice. I like that there are multiple options as well.

    Very fun activity! Forced all my students (high school, Spanish 1) to actually participate and review telling time, instead of just the same several students answering all the questions.
    Slightly confusing when giving the directions to them, but as soon as they got started and saw how it worked, it was super easy for them to do.
    I’d recommend having all the students start by standing at a different paper, tell them to write down the time that is given at the bottom of that paper, wait till everyone is done, then tell them to search for the paper that says that same time at the top… then cut them loose to work. 🙂
