Animals in Spanish Worksheets & Reading Passages

Doing a gallery walk is one of my favorite ways to give students tons of input in Spanish! These short reading passages are a great way to introduce students to animals in Spanish.

This set of reading passages includes 14 comprehension passages about different animals! The readings include:

• Name
• Where they live
• Size
• Colors
• Eating habits
• Fun fact
• Vocabulary support in the form of footnotes

It also includes a writing activity for students to record information about an animal they read about, as well as a chart to record information about each animal. This is great to add to your classroom library!

Animals in Spanish Worksheets & Guessing Game Activities

Have you played Guess Who before? This is a great one for giving your students more input!

This animals in Spanish guessing game encourages students to review high frequency verbs vive, es, come, and more as they play to discover the animals!

Students take turns asking Yes/No questions until they figure out the animal. You can play as a whole class, in small groups, or with pairs with the slides and game boards.

Animals in Spanish Research Project

Explore animals from the Spanish-speaking world with this research poster project! There are 40 templates with names of animals filled in. You can print them off and let students choose, assign animals to research, or post the sheets as a fast finisher option to create a bulletin board or display!

There is an additional, optional page if you would like to print back to back to include more information, as well as space for your students to cite their sources.

There is also a template without animals filled in so that you can add other creatures, or let students choose! There’s a lot of flexibility with this resource.
