  1. Ellen R. –

I adore ALL the Corre en Círculos activities – and even started creating my own at times. However, this one is excellent because DOs are always a challenge! Students love the activity and actually got the hand of the DOs better than any other activity.

  2. Julie S. –

This was a great way to practice the direct object pronouns. My students had a better grasp of the concept after completing. It really made them think about masculine, feminine, singular and plural, which was great!

  3. Kathy C. –

This was good to get students thinking about choosing the correct object pronoun to replace the noun. It’s also always good to get them up and walking and working out with each other how to answer correctly.

  4. Tanya S. –

I love the Corre en Círculos activities. Another version of the activity that I do is print off one set of the cards per partner grouping and having them put the cards in order. LOVE these actvities.

  5. Cecilia A. –

This activity was great! I used it with 4 classes on the same day. There were several students who exclaimed at the end of the class that this activity really helped them understand how to use direct object pronouns. Notes that I will be leaving for myself for future use include that students finish at very different times and that a few students left class very frustrated because they kept messing up.

    • Ashley Mikkelsen –

Yes! I totally hear that. So one thing I love to do is have a fast finisher handy – just because of exactly what you mentioned! When they all finish at different times it can be a classroom management issue. Here’s a few of my favorites if you need any ideas:

For those students that have a hiccup and have to reset, I try to circulate and “hover” a little more for students who might need that support. I don’t always catch them before that hiccup happens, and that’s part of the activity, but I will help them retrace steps and identify the problem to help them feel that “aha!” and optimism about moving forward. I hope that helps!

  6. Glenda Maxwell –

My students loved this so they can move around and learn.

  7. Meghan K. –

I think the only thing I’d change is to perhaps offer a preterite version as we tend to do our clothing unit as discussing what we bought so I still use it to review present tense with them but I may change these this year myself or do an extension as we continue to revamp our curriculum.

  8. Jill Hoopes –

I love the Corre en Círculos! They are always a hit. This was especially great because it required a few more details with the pronouns that really engaged my students. It’s great for them to get up and move around, too!

  9. Stephanie H. –

I really like the idea of this resource, and it kept my students engaged. However, because the concept of direct object pronouns is difficult for students, it might be good to vary the verbs used or to include other direct object pronouns (other than “lo, la, los and las”). Students were saying that they enjoyed the activity, but they thought there were too many questions, and so therefore, they were frustrated when they kept having to “loop back” (even with my help). This made the activity somewhat challenging in a larger class, because there were groups of students who would just give up because they thought it was too challenging.

  10. Sra Vallin –

My student absolutely loved this method of practice. I converted this to a tabletop manipulative activity by printing the cards 8 to a page on cardstock and then laminating for durability. A very flexible resource and terrific for both initial practice and review.
