Each reading includes vocabulary supports at the bottom of the page to help your students be successful. The readings are a basic introduction and description of each person!

    I love short and quick comprehensible activities like this! Srta. Spanish 10/10!

    I handed students clipboards, and they worked in pairs, alone, or in groups of 3.

    They walked around and were trying to figure out the vocabulary. Whatever vocabulary was more challenging, I put on an anchor chart.

    The additional activities were perfect for fast finishers!

    Great activity, especially for a block period and it’s a no-prep activity. I used this with my Span. 2 students during our Family unit. We found one mistake, question 10 “¿quién es la prima mayor de Diego?” Answer sheet says Pilar but she is 13 and Diego is 14. I just deleted the question since there is another question asking about his youngest cousin.

    Overall a great resource but several errors made this a bit confusing for students. The family tree diagram is off, as well as a question asking about Diego’s oldest cousin. There is no older cousin. I had to recreate the family tree so that it made sense.

I’m not sure what you’re seeing as off about the diagram so I’m wondering if it was a printing issue with lines, but without more info it’s hard to trouble shoot. That question is not asking for the cousin that is older than him. It is asking for his oldest cousin, as you stated in your feedback. His oldest cousin is the oldest out of his four cousins, and that info is in the readings and on the key (I don’t put answers on this page in case of enterprising students, but you can see it in your download). I know that can be tricky, but it’s a specific reading comprehension written to encourage students to think critically about the options available and the vocabulary.     This resource was great when learning about family. My students were engaged with the materials and the activities included. The only modification I made was to hang the descriptions of the family members on the wall as a gallery walk. I then had students fill out the answers based as they moved around the room.

    I loved this resource! I had been wanting to strengthen my student’s reading skills and found this resource for our family unit. There are several short readings on family members that are super comprehensible AND include mini glossaries at the end of each one for vocab words that are newer or they may be less familiar with. The use of cognates and other high frequency Spanish 1 words made this assignment easy for my students to complete and really increased their own confidence in reading comprehension. I need to look through the store to see if there are more like this on other themes because it was exactly what I needed!

    I LOVED this activity! I posted the slides on Google Classroom instead of taping them around the room so that students weren’t walking all around (we are in hybrid learning). I found this resource engaging, exciting, and unique! Even though we hadn’t gone over a lot of the vocab contained on each card, students were able to complete the activities.     This is my 2nd resource like this one from this seller and they are amazing! My students love doing gallery walks and this one is perfect for family! Vocabulary support is there if you need it, and if my students should know it I just white out the vocab before posting on the walls. I have students take a pic of one of the paragraphs and use it as a mentor to write their own paragraph about themselves–changing information to make it true for them.
