This was great and CHALLENGING! I definitely needed to give them more time to really think it out and not have them guess. A few students ended up having to backtrack and got frustrated, but because of their own choices.
It’s a great resource for truly thinking and using the skills and staying engaged!

  21. Lisa R. –

I love corre círculos because it gets kids out of their seats and moving, motivates them to keep going, and helps them realize that sometimes it’s important to have exactly the right answer! Thank you!

  26. Maria M. –

My students always enjoy your “Corre en Circulos” activities. This particular one is a fun and engaging way to practice the preterite tense.

  27. Stacy Roeschlein –

I love using this activity after introducing and practicing the verb forms the day before. The next day we review verb forms and then students are actively moving around completing “Corre en Círculos”. I allow students to work individually or in pairs. I have found that it helps students if I require them to write the bold verb form on the line right next to the number, then I require them to write the clue (for the next verb form) to the right side on the same line. This allows me to quickly check for errors if a student needs help and it helps the students stay organized. I love the idea of a digital form available also. Although, instead of using the Google Slides provided, I create my own “ordering” quiz on Canvas with this activity for those students who are absent and it grades itself. 🙂 I HIGHLY recommend all of her “Corre en Círculos”!

  28. Profe’s Corner –

I am now a fan of CORRE EN CIRCULOS. Students love to get up and move around. I’ll do this more often!

  29. Tina Richards –

This was a fantastic activity to get the students up and practicing their knowledge of the preterite. I actually was observed during this lesson, and it went very well, especially since they were focusing on student engagement! Definitely watch the explanation video she has on YouTube so you fully understand how it works!

  30. Danielle Holsapple –

This is a great way to practice a grammar concept while being able to move around.

  31. Maria C. –

I love this activity for many reasons: easy prep, students are moving, self-checking, and engaging.

  32. Bilingual Crew –

This was a great activity that helped my students reinforced this topic. Students were engaged!

  33. Karry P. –

This was the first time I used this with this group of students and it went well. The 9th graders were much more willing than the upper class students to wonder around and look for the correct answers. They liked it enough that I’ll need to add the er/ir endings as well. It did keep the majority of them on task and looking for the correct cards to complete the activity.

  34. Meghan K. –

While I appreciate everything going digital, I stand by the original hunt around the room to get the moving, and they LOVE it even if they are conjugating verbs or working on an otherwise tedious grammar point. One of the first and best activities I ever invested in on TpT!

  35. Nicholas C. –

This is a great activity to get students up and moving and it actually requires to conjugate correctly to finish the activity. This activity helped me ensure students were actually engaged in their learning instead of just copying down answers from a friend at the last minute. Students always love the opportunity to get up and get moving as well!

  36. Bethany Pflug –

    Good game for Game Friday

  37. Laura DeCerchio –

Took some explaining but great activity to get them out of their seats. Will definitely do again.

  38. Laura M. –

Amazing resource. My students were on task looking for the conjugations.

  39. Pastel Profe –

    As always, wonderful activity!

  40. Janna D. –

I used this as a printed, get up and move activity after introducing preterites. My kids love to get up and move.

  41. Brittany M. –

Great activity and I use more of these to help practice conjugations!

  42. Jennifer W. –

Great resource! I was able to put them up 6+ feet apart outside and had students social distance while doing this activity during a mask break. It went really well.

  43. Magdalena D. –

    Fun Friday activity.

  44. La Cholita Rubia –

This was a great way to practice conjugating verbs! The kids loved getting up out of their seats and “solving the clues”. I did let them work with a partner, which helped some kids a lot. Be aware that they all finish at different times, so have another follow up independent activity on the ready so the “slower” kids can finish the game. The kids really had a good time with this and what I loved especially is that it is a self check activity, where if they didn’t conjugate correctly, they would figure it out and fix it on their own, which of course helps them remember better.

  45. Natalia R. –

    Great resource!

  46. Isis T. –

    good

  47. Feliz Language Learning –

    Thank you

  48. Marissa S. –

    Great resource! Kids loved it.

  49. Lesley M. –

I really liked the idea of this activity. The only problem I had is that the same answers repeated (cantaron for example). This made it very confusing for the kids. I would recommend to revise it where there will never be the same answer. Otherwise, I liked the way it got kids up and moving.

    • Ashley Mikkelsen –

That is an error in the file – there shouldn’t be any repeats! Thanks so much for your feedback that helped me correct it! Please re-download for the new version. I really appreciate it! I hope the next time you try it out you find it much more straightforward and enjoyable!

  50. Sharon S. –

Great to practice preterite conjugations! Mine needed a bit of extra direction, but once they got it, they “got it”! Thanks!

  55. melinda D. –

Great activity for my Spanish 2 students. It was great for the day before vacation.
