I love to learn about la Navidad and Día de los Reyes in my Spanish classroom! This year I thought it would be helpful to round up digital Navidad y Día de los Reyes Activities for Spanish Class This post includes several options for station ideas and cultural activities you could include for your secondary Spanish classroom. Here are some great digital Spanish class activities for Christmas!

Spanish Class Activities for Christmas – Take a Virtual Field Trip!
I think interactive maps are one of my favorite ways to explore culture. It really helps students understand the WHERE of who and what we’re studying. It always drives me crazy when I realize students couldn’t pick out a place on the map when we’ve been talking about it for weeks, so I like to introduce a cultural topic with an interactive map like this one!
Holiday Traditions in Spain
If you’d like to focus on one country rather than several, this reading and comprehension activity is a good one to focus on a variety of holiday traditions that occur in Spain in December and January! Students read, then complete the questions and/or graphic organizer to show what they understood.

Christmas Commercial Madness
Dustin Williamson usually puts together a bracket of commercials that is just amazing! Here’s the link to his site and the bracket from 2019 – I haven’t seen him posting anything for 2020 just yet, but if you missed it last year you could certainly use the one from 2019 or another year!
Writing to Los Reyes Magos
This video is a fun one to introduce the concept of children writing a letter to the Reyes Magos, rather than Santa! After watching it and talking about it, students can write their own letter with these scaffolded templates!

La Nochevieja y Las Uvas
I absolutely adore teaching my students about this tradition, and in the past I’ve had kids come back from winter break saying they did it with their own families! If you’re teaching virtually, it might be a great option to bring more of the house into your lesson for a day!
Students read about the grapes and then write their own deseos on the graphic organizer. My favorite part of this lesson is playing a video like this one while we all eat 12 mini marshmallows! If your students are home, or eating in class isn’t an option right now, it might be fun to send the link to the video to the grown ups and offer them a few options: grapes, mini marshmallows, even Goldfish crackers would work to simulate the fun at home!
