Celebrate la Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos in your classroom with stations! I LOVE doing stations in my Spanish classroom! They are a great way to give students the opportunity to learn in a small group setting. Especially for holidays like la Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos, doing stations is a great opportunity to include more than activity! This post includes several options for station ideas and cultural activities you could include for your secondary Spanish classroom. Here are some great Holiday Activities for Spanish class!

Read a Letter
One of my favorite cultural comparisons to talk about with my students is Three Kings Day vs. Santa! After we’ve talked about it, one of the activities we do is to read a letter to los Reyes Magos. Then the students answer questions about what they’ve read.
Write a letter

After reading the sample letter and watching this video, it can be fun to have students write their own! I have a scaffolded version, where the students fill in the appropriate blanks or check boxes, and a version where students have space to write in their own words. I like to use the versions to differentiate for my students at various levels! Click here to see this writing activity in my store!
The Important Dates Around La Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos
Students read the dates and descriptions of the holidays, then use the information to match the days and descriptions of the celebrations. This is a great review of days and months! Click here to see this resource in my store!

Videos for La Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos
Are you familiar with Tío Spanish? The “finger puppet” style of video is juuuust weird enough to captivate students, and the videos have some great, simple explanations! I love to use this video to explain some of the traditions!
12 Deseos
Students read about the tradition of eating the grapes at the stroke of midnight, then write 12 “deseos” of their own on their grapes! Sometimes, instead of doing this as a station activity, I use this activity as a whole class, with an added twist (click here to read about that plan). They love it! Word Search
Simple, and fun, a word search is a great way to let your students explore some of the vocabulary related to the season! This is a great one to use while you “sit by the fire” and work calmly. It’s also perfect for early finishers or a quiet station when you need a moment of calm in the middle of the holiday excitement. You can even turn it into a mini challenge by timing how fast students can find all the words, or by having them use five of the terms in a holiday-themed sentence once they finish. Want to Mix Up La Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos Even More?
Looking to mix in even more variety with your La Navidad y Día de los Reyes Magos stations? Try adding a hands-on craft station where students create and decorate their own little “zapatos” for the Reyes Magos. They can write short notes to tuck inside and draw the gifts they’re wishing for. This station is always a hit and makes a great hallway display. You could also set up a mini reading station that compares how different Spanish-speaking countries celebrate the holidays. Students can explore short info cards or visuals from places like Spain, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, then jot down what they learned or found surprising. It’s a great way to help them see how diverse and rich these traditions are across cultures.
For a more playful twist, a “mystery bag” station is a fun way to get students using their holiday vocabulary. Fill a bag with themed items or pictures, and have students describe them in Spanish while others guess what they pulled. Wrap things up with a quick reflection station where students write or share which station they enjoyed most and why. It brings the experience full circle and gives them a moment to connect personally with the holiday traditions. These little additions help keep your stations fresh, fun, and full of meaningful input all while giving students plenty of ways to engage and explore the culture.
