La Familia Review Game Challenge
In this challenge, students work in groups to complete tasks and solve puzzles in order to complete a family photo!
Here’s how it works:

Students can work in teams or individually to complete all 7 tasks. Each task is focused on a different family member to add to their photo frame. As they complete each of the tasks, they will bring you their answers and you will quickly check them. If they are correct, you will hand them the corresponding family member and the next task. They continue this process until all tasks are completed and their photo is complete. When they finish, they are “Challenge Champions” and you can give them a prize or an award.

Tasks Include:
- Task #1: Palabra Misteriosa – Match the family vocabulary to its Spanish definition
- Task #2: Corre en Círculos – Practice saying how old someone is using the verb “tener”
- Task #3: Mira y Escribe – Describe family relationships
- Task #4: Colorea por Número – Read a passage and complete a reading comprehension activity
- Task #5: Laberinto Misterioso – Use the family tree to find your way through the maze
- Task #6: Cierto o Falso – Read a passage and complete a reading comprehension activity
- Task #7: Frases Mezcladas – Unscramble the sentences so they are correctly written about the family

Students will review the following skills:
- describing family relationships
- using ser to describe someone
- using tener to describe age
- using tener to describe family members someone has
- possessive adjectives and ownership with “de”
Each task gets them one step closer to completing the challenge!

This is a great way to do a review for the end of your family unit! There are no locks, no hiding of objects, or any extra prep work. The beauty of this escape room style activity is that it is very low prep. Just make copies, organize your teams, and you’re set!
