Seasons Vocabulary in Spanish

With your Spanish weather vocabulary unit, it’s not uncommon to visit seasons vocabulary. Here is a short list of Spanish seasons vocabulary:

  • la primavera
  • el otoño
  • el invierno
  • el verano

You can ask students about their favorite season, and describe the weather and activities they do! While some units like to combine weather, seasons, and clothing, for these Spanish weather vocabulary worksheets we will stick to the first two only.

Review Spanish Weather Worksheets

These Spanish worksheets include a mystery puzzle, partner speaking activity, human bingo, listening activity, and more! There are digital versions included with several of the options so you can choose what works best for your classroom.

The maze weather worksheet will give students practice in identifying common weather phrases. Each correct answer leads them closer to the end of the maze! This could be used in class as independent practice, for homework, or would be an excellent file to leave for a substitute. An answer key is included that can be projected for students to self- correct, as well as a digital version for Google Slides.

The Spanish weather worksheet pack includes a Spanish word search, crossword, writing practice, as well as a digital version of each for Google Slides. Use the printable worksheets or the digital version – whichever is best in your classroom!

The Spanish weather vocabulary dictation set includes listening, reading, and writing practice all in one review activity. Print and hang the sentences for running dictation, or use the included audio file to let your students work individually! This is a great resource for a sub plan as well.

Weather Report for Spanish Students

In this Spanish weather report project, students will explore the Spanish-speaking countries while reviewing weather expressions in this digital project. Students include 21 countries, 21 cities (within those countries), the name of the place, the weather in each city, the temperature in each city, and 3 Images in each city to represent the included information. I love this to tie in social studies skills with your world languages standards as they connect geography and the Spanish language.

This weather report project is flexible for the vocabulary you have been working on with your students! They will look up the weather forecast using any website you prefer, and gather it into the map they create in their final project.

Small Talk and Calendar Talk Routine

If you are looking to add Spanish weather vocabulary to your daily routine, this small talk resource is a great option. Begin each class with a check in, calendar talk, and talking about the weather with your students for an easy way to cover each Spanish expression throughout the school year.

If you’d like to learn more about this daily routine, check out the blog post here with the full walk through and example slides!

Free Resources for Weather Activities

The first is a Corre en Círculos game, which is a scavenger hunt style activity you can play with your classes. Students answer the question, then move to the next prompt for a fun way to review. Print and hang or use the mini version at their desks for a warm up.

This free game includes:

Another great free resource for Spanish weather vocabulary is this Snowman movie talk. Movie Talk is a great way to give your students a ton of input and they will hear the weather expressions a bunch during this activity!

This free resource includes:

  • Student “warm up” activity for use before watching – match the caption to the image, identify key words, and try and guess what they think will happen in the story. Paper and digital versions of this available.
  • Tally sheets for students to mark when they hear key vocabulary.
