I used this before introducing a novel set in Costa Rica, and students explored some of the setting and really “saw” the beauty of the country. It worked for students who really hadn’t had any interaction with Costa Rica before and set them up well for starting our novel.

Once again I was able to use this as an extra credit assignment and the students were able to do this easily and quickly from home. It usually takes them between 15-20 minutes to do quality work but it’s an awesome opportunity for a few extra points and extra cultural knowledge for them while being no fuss no prep for me!
