I used this with my Spanish 2 classes while teaching stem-changing -er and -ir verbs in the preterite. The Corre en Círculos format kept students engaged and provided plenty of meaningful practice with a challenging grammar concept. It was a fun, active review that helped build both confidence and accuracy before assessments.

Students love this corre en círculos because they get to work with a partner while completing the task. It’s a low stress activity for students to practice the stem-changing verbs in the preterite tense, which can be challenging for novice learners. I highly recommend this activity.

I absolutely LOVE these corre en circulos. The students are able to be social while also adding movement to their activity. There is so much organic conversation that comes up during these between me and the students and I love that too!

I used this with a 8th grade Spanish II student I was tutoring. Since it was a one-on-one tutoring session in his home, instead of hanging the papers up, I printed them 6 to a page, cut them out, and scrambled them. We laid them out and he just selected the next one. We have done this once already with another set of verbs, so he knew the drill. When given a choice of several activities to practice the er/ir stem-changing verbs in the preterite, he picked this one to do first! I like these engaging, self-checking, tactile/movement activities to reinforce grammar skills in ways that are so much fun that the typical worksheet.

Corre en circulos is one of my favorite things to help students with various conjugations and grammar topics. It gets them out of their seats and moving during class. Plus, it is self checking and gets them thinking.

This is a great activity to get students up and moving and it actually requires to conjugate correctly to finish the activity. This activity helped me ensure students were actually engaged in their learning instead of just copying down answers from a friend at the last minute. Students always love the opportunity to get up and get moving as well!

So happy there was a digital version for my remote kiddos! They found it very useful as an introductory practice because they didn’t have to write anything down but still had to know the verbs.
