Description
Get your students up and out of their seats with this activity! Students answer the prompt, then find the answer around the room. When they find the answer, they go to it, and complete the next prompt, repeating until they have completed the circle! Some students like to race to see who can finish the loop fastest, others work at their own pace. Students can begin at any prompt and practice, checking their work as they go.

I used this with my Spanish 2 classes during our unit on regular -er and -ir verbs in the preterite. The Corre en Círculos format got students up and moving while providing meaningful repetition and immediate feedback. It was an engaging way to reinforce verb conjugations before quizzes and tests.

I loved it. My students loved it. It was easy to explain to my students as well.

I always love these activities to get my students moving and out of their seats. I always have them write a sentence or draw a picture after they complete the activity as well.

I am not lying when I say that I have 100% engagement in my classes when we do our corre en circulos activities. I have purchased a few versions and my students have even shared with me that it helps them with verb conjugations. This has become a weekly activity in my class, I would highly recommend it.

I bought one of these and the students liked it so much that I purchased more. I have only used the digital version because I liked the no-prep aspect of it. I also use it as a class competition which makes it more engaging.

I love using this activity after introducing and practicing the verb forms the day before. The next day we review verb forms and then students are actively moving around completing “Corre en Círculos”. I allow students to work individually or in pairs. I have found that it helps students if I require them to write the bold verb form on the line right next to the number, then I require them to write the clue (for the next verb form) to the right side on the same line. This allows me to quickly check for errors if a student needs help and it helps the students stay organized. I love the idea of a digital form available also. Although, instead of using the Google Slides provided, I create my own “ordering” quiz on Canvas with this activity for those students who are absent and it grades itself. 🙂 I HIGHLY recommend all of her “Corre en Círculos”!

This is a great activity to get students up and moving and it actually requires to conjugate correctly to finish the activity. This activity helped me ensure students were actually engaged in their learning instead of just copying down answers from a friend at the last minute. Students always love the opportunity to get up and get moving as well!

I love using Corre en Circulos. It’s one of the few activities that I can prep quickly and still know kids are doing lots of thinking and working to figure out the answers. This activity can be done independently or in groups. I’ve done it digitally also, but I do prefer in person. I can’t wait to find a day we can do this outside also. I use this activity with lots of different grammar work. Love it!

This is a GREAT activity for the kiddos to do because they get to get out of their seats and walk around. It took most of my students about 30 minutes to complete. I also really like this activity because I find that my students have more difficulty with ER/IR preterite verbs, so it is just a little extra practice with it. After my students were finished and they checked their answers, I had them sit in their seats and write a few logical sentences using the verbs from the activity. I always love this and the kids always love it too!
