Hispanic Heritage Month
You may want to do a display specific to Hispanic Heritage Month! This board from Angie’s Schoolhouse is a great resource for displaying in your classroom, on a bulletin board, in the hallway, or at the school entrance during Hispanic Heritage Month. Perfect for including your school in the celebration and honoring Hispanic heritage!
I love this interactive classroom display to hang in your classroom or a shared space in your school. It includes 100 questions about countries, capitals, flags, people, and Hispanic Heritage Month! Check it out below:
Spanish-Speaking Countries
This resource from Señora Lee has is a Spanish-speaking countries word wall where students first color the flags, then post it on a bulletin board.
These flags and activity sheets could be used all month long! Check out what this teacher said, “One of the best products I’ve purchased! Each day, students would be introduced to a Spanish-speaking country. Then, we’d find it on the map and they’d color that flag only. I would then add the flag to our wall. Once we were done, we had a great flag display across the wall. I laminated the flags for the wall so they’ll last forever. Thank you!”
These labels from SpanishPlans are nice because they include a bit more info about each country, such as the flag, location, and capital. Print, laminate, and hang!
You might want to do a bulletin board that focuses on one country in particular, rather than all of them. My friend Julie from Mundo de Pepita has a beautiful series where she has created art to go with each country. I love her art and they’re easy to print and hang in your classroom!
If you’d like to focus on one country, but would like to include information as well, check out these gallery walk country displays and activities! Each display includes 12 informational pages in Spanish and English for your students to learn about the country. They also include a graphic organizer and comprehension questions if you would like to do an activity with the display in class as well!
Famous Hispanics
This board from SraDavilaMadwid has three quotes to choose from! Whether you want to teach a unit about Selena, watch her movie, have an inspirational quote all year, celebrate Hispanic Heritage month or latina women this bulletin board is perfect for you and your students. Click here to download!
Want a simple way to introduce your students to several famous Hispanics in one print and go display? I love this set of readings because it is perfect for the beginning of the year! It’s all about famous people of Hispanic heritage written in comprehensible language. Each reading is a basic introduction and personal description of each person! (pssst…there’s a TON of things you can do with these readings, besides just a display. Check it out here!)
If you are studying about Frida Kahlo with your students, you may love this monarch display from Profe Nygaard! I love that she includes an icebreaker activity along with the reading and display, which is perfect if you’ve just gone back to school and are looking for some getting to know you activities, but want to decorate for Hispanic Heritage Month as well.
La Profe Plotts has a bunch of collaborative posters that would be so fun for your students! Students work together to color and complete the poster, then you can hang it to decorate a door or bulletin board around your school! What a great team-building activity at the beginning of the school year!
Another resource that is perfect for Hispanic Heritage Month is this set of notes, project, and test for your heritage speakers class. Why am I including it in the Spanish Classroom Decor for Hispanic Heritage Month post? The timeline project pairs with a quote from César Chávez to make a great display as you wrap up the unit!
This research poster project is a great way to introduce your students to many famous Hispanics! Students choose (or you assign) a person to research and complete the poster. When they’re finished, hang them for a bulletin board. It’s also great to hang them in a shared space in your school so other students, staff, and parents can learn from your students’ work!
