Must Have Posters for Spanish Class
First, if you’re sharing a classroom, traveling this year, or tight on space, I’d recommend checking out my post on Must Have Posters for Spanish Class. These are the things I would suggest you hang up first, before the cute and fun displays I’m going to be sharing in the rest of this post!

Display Student Work
One of my favorite getting to know you activities also turns into a fantastic display to decorate your classroom. Students complete and color the all about me banners in Spanish or in English, depending on their level. Then you hang them up for everyone to see!
If your students are a higher level, another option is for them to share about their hopes for the school year! Students write about what they hope for in a writing prompt. They can include several hopes, or just write one large one! The posters to write on include four variations so you can choose what works best for your classroom.
Word Walls
I mention in my must haves that I love word walls to support students! I love question words and high frequency verbs as absolute musts but I wanted to share a few more that are fun and useful if you have the space!
This Yo Soy Rainbow Display is one of my all time favorites to hang and leave up all year! It’s bright, cheery, full of cognates, and great to use to reinforce adjectives. A friend mentioned to me that she hangs it with a mirror in the middle so the students see themselves surrounded by the positive adjectives. Brilliant!
Debra sent me this picture on Instagram after hanging it up in her classroom and I just love how it turned out!
Another handy word wall is to hang up words for common school supplies your students will use throughout your lessons. I really like to do this to help me stay in the target language because as I’m giving instructions and telling students what they will need I can walk over to the wall and point to the items I’m referencing. It’s also handy during your school unit!
The last word wall I’d recommend for back to school is this greetings and farewells display! It’s an excellent resource for beginning of year when students are learning basic expressions in Spanish. It is both helpful for students and colorful bulletin board! (Just check out the reviews!)
Fun Spanish Classroom Decor Ideas for Back to School
Another thing I love to do with classroom decor is have some fun with the language while we welcome our students and help them to feel part of the community! These displays are a great way to include your students and teach them a fun phrase or play on words as they get started with Spanish class this year.
Muuuuuucho Gusto
As your students are learning to introduce themselves and great others, this board is perfect! Give students their own little milk cartons to decorate and add to the display. Guardians will love seeing this one at back to school night!
Eres la leche
If you teach heritage classes or want to teach your students a fun phrase right away, this board is a great twist on the cow theme with another way to reinforce “soy” at the beginning of the year!
Nuestra Clase Es FLANtástica
Enough of the cows already? I love a good play on words and this is a fantastic *cough cough* way to do so that even your beginning students will get!
Somos BRILLANTES
Less punny, more cutesy? I gotcha! Students decorate a light bulb and add their names. Then hang their work under the printable phrase “¡Somos Brillantes!” with to make a fun display in your classroom, door, or a bulletin board!
¡Estamos EMOCIONADOS por ESPAÑOL!
Have tech obsessed students? (Aren’t we all?) This emoji inspired board is a fun option! Choose from color or black and white emojis, and let students pick which emoji represents them – or let them design their own with the template!
