Let’s talk about some fun St. Patrick’s Day activities for Spanish class with your students. And – you may be wondering- WHY St. Patrick’s day in Spanish class? Mostly because I’m a sucker for ANYTHING fun that will engage students as long as we’re doing it in Spanish. And, in my part of the world around this time of year, it’s green green green for St. Patty’s Day, so why not have a little fun? Let’s get right into it!
I have ideas for conjugation, review games, writing activities, bulletin boards, and a story you can use with your classes. I can’t wait to share them with you!

St. Patrick’s Day Activities for Spanish Class
1. First up we have a pot of gold – well, sort of. The pots have infinitives and the students conjugate the verbs on the gold coins. If you want, they can color them when they’re done! Click here to check them out.
2. Sticking with the gold theme – Olla de Oro is one of my favorite review games to play with students. It’s a card game where they draw cards from the middle. If they get a gold card, they conjugate it. If they’re correct they keep it. There are a few other “mischief” cards in the deck to keep the game interesting!
3. Shamrock puzzles are another fun option to practice with your students. Print, cut, and have students find the pieces of the clover that go with the English translation on the stem. This one is great for stations, warm up, or a fast finisher!
4. I usually like to change out my classroom decor once a month (or so…you know how that goes). I have a good one for this time of year. It’s a student writing and reflection activity to help them think about their goals AND what they can control to help them reach those goals. As they finish, they write and decorate on a shamrock. Then, you can hang them up in the display with the printable letters! Click here to download.
5. If you saw my video on the snowflake game earlier, you know I love a good digital review game. This editable game for Google Slides has your students on the hunt for the end of the rainbow. Throughout the hunt, they’re practicing the material you insert for them! It’s easy to set up and students like the instant feedback as they click through the game.
6. Last but not least – you know I couldn’t do this without sharing a story with you! This short reading is a great option for March in Spanish class! Liana the llama just wants to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, but her parents say no way…what happens next?! This resource includes a comprehension activity in Spanish for students to complete after reading the story. There are also coloring sheets to go with the story and a whole class activity to encourage re-reading. I do have a digital version for this story if you’d prefer, or if you need a quick sub plan!

Okay, not exactly a resource, but fun to wear while you’re teaching your students during March!
