While I shared this in my round up of spring themed shorts, you could certainly use it any time of year during your chores or house unit!

The slides are editable, so of course feel free to edit for your students’ levels and the language you want to taregt. I kept it to really simple language with Spanish 1s in mind, but I think there’s some great opportunity for your tener que + infinitive practice as well as chores vocabulary.

This short Spanish reading is a great way to practice tener que and Spanish vocabulary for chores around the house! It’s a great lesson plan for your novice Spanish students or even emergency sub plans.

This PDF practice includes a short reading about a boy who has a creative solution to his household chores written in comprehensible language. The reading includes vocabulary supports at the bottom of the page to help your students be successful. Great practice for chores and house vocabulary!

If you’ve never played Corre en Círculos before, you’re in for a treat! This scavenger hunt around the room game gets students up and moving while they practice.

I personally prefer to base my unit around the short Spanish reading and activities, and use the other activities to reinforce the tener que + infinitive structure after students have been exposed to it.
