If you’re taking a group of students on a trip out of the country, or taking your Spanish class on a field trip, you’re going to need money to make that happen. Sometimes a school budget can contribute, but more often than not that needs to come from your students’ pockets, or from their hard work. Here are some Spanish Club fundraiser ideas to help!

Creative and Culture-Packed Spanish Club Fundraiser Ideas

Let’s be honest, not all Spanish Club fundraiser ideas are created equal. Some feel like a chore and others feel like a celebration. The secret is finding that sweet spot where culture, community, and fun come together. Whether you’re raising money for a class trip, guest speaker, or cultural night, the fundraiser should spark excitement, not eye rolls. You want your students to be proud of what they’re doing and feel like they’re part of something bigger than just selling candy bars.

Some of the best Spanish Club fundraiser ideas I’ve seen involve food, art, and interactive events. Think tamale-making nights, sticker sales with cultural designs, and parade stands with aguas frescas. You can even tie in service by donating a portion of proceeds to a Latin American cause. It’s meaningful and gives students purpose beyond just dollars and cents.

Spanish Club Fundraiser Ideas

  1. “We Help Two” funky sock fundraiser – sell fun socks to raise money!
  2. Sell international candies – French chocolate, fun flavors – kids love trying different things!
  3. Make and sell cascarones – Collect clean empty egg shells all year and fill them with confetti. The confetti can be collected from the office hole punch or copy machine! Then glue tissue paper on top. Sell these at an event for $4 or $5 a dozen. Hint: Do NOT sell during the school day because otherwise your admin and janitorial staff will be unhappy with you when kids crack them over each others’ heads all day!
  4. Check with locally owned franchises – many restaurants like Blaze Pizza, Culver’s, Chipotle, and more, do fundraising nights. Call around and see what’s available!
  5. Host a stand at a parade or local event – Root beer floats, lemonade, ice cream cones or other quick and easy treat to scoop or pour and serve
  6. Sell coffee from Costa Rica – reach out and ask for a wholesale rate for fundraising purposes!
  7. Friendship bracelets from Guatemala – Sell each one at an event or at lunch time!
  8. Make tamales – if you have someone in your school community who would be willing to come in and lead your group through making them, it’s a fun cultural experience, plus you can sell them for a fundraiser. You could also consider hosting a “cooking night out” where you sell tickets for people to come learn and make their own!
  9. Sell Salsa – here’s a website with more info!
  10. Feed parents – Host a catered dinner during parent teacher conferences and selling tickets. Consider partnering with a local Hispanic restaurant and have the Spanish club students assist with the meal. The parents can grab a quick meal in between conferences.

Catholic School Fundraiser

I have one more fundraiser idea to share with you, but since it’s not specifically Spanish I thought I’d give it its own section. My friend Lindsay from Just Love Prints creates beautiful art and she has partnered with schools to do fundraisers with her stickers!

How it works:

Grab some (dishwasher safe!) vinyl stickers at a deep discount, then re-sell at your school for a profit for your students’ events! For example, if you buy 100 stickers for $199 and sell each sticker for $5, that’s about $3 profit per sticker, or $300 profit overall!

Fundraising is Your Job — Translating is Not

As much as we give our hearts to our students, let’s draw the line where it needs to be. While it’s perfectly reasonable for you to lead the charge on Spanish Club fundraiser ideas, it is not your responsibility to translate documents or interpret phone calls just because you speak another language. That’s not what you signed up for, and it’s okay to say that out loud. World language teachers are not translators or interpreters. You are building learning experiences and supporting cultural growth, and that’s plenty.

So yes, lead that fundraiser with pride. Just don’t feel pressured to wear every multilingual hat in the building. Your role is to teach, connect, inspire, and yes, guide your students through amazing Spanish Club fundraiser ideas. Keep it focused, fun, and aligned with your actual job. You’ve got this.
