As students are working on their knowledge of the numbers in Spanish, they might struggle with which numbers are a single word, accent marks (carrying over knowledge from 1-30), and pronunciation. Let’s look at some different ways you can work on this with them!

Spanish Numbers 30-100 Game

This review game is the best way to get your students up and moving while they are practicing vocabulary and grammar in your classes. It’s one of my all-time favorites and I use it at least once a chapter, if not more! The game is called Corre en Círculos. Let’s talk about how to play! This game includes:

  • Printable student sheet
  • 2 Printable puzzles
  • 2 Digital puzzles for use with Google Slides
  • Instructions for teacher use
  • Answer Key for each puzzle

Set up the Game

In order to play, choose which game version you’d like to use, print and cut the clue cards in half. This game includes two different ways to practice: one where students read the numeral and write the number word in Spanish, and one where they read the number word and write the numeral instead! You can choose which you’d like your students to play with, print them both in different colors for students to play one and then the other right after the other, do them on different days, or use the second version for a different game!

My personal favorite is to use the print-friendly pages in a mini version for students to do as part of stations or as a warm up another day in the unit. Here’s a quick tutorial for printing the clue cards as a mini puzzle!

Once you have them printed there’s a bunch of ways you can play. We’re going to talk about the traditional scavenger hunt style game, but you can learn more about 10 ways to play Corre en Círculos in my blog post here!

How to Play Corre en Círculos

To play this scavenger hunt style game, students pick any clue sheet around the room. They read and answer the prompt, then find the answer around the room. When they find the answer, they go to it, and complete the next prompt, repeating until they have completed the circle! Some students like to race to see who can finish the loop fastest, others work at their own pace. Students can begin at any prompt and practice, checking their work as they go.

Check out my video here for a quick demonstration of how to introduce this game to your students:

Absent Students

If you teach online, do distance learning, or have absent students, I have good news for you! The digital variation of this Spanish numbers 30-100 game is a great option that is no extra work for you. Just post the Google Slides in your secured learning management system like Google Classroom and students can complete the puzzle digitally by dragging and dropping the slides.
