You may need to have your district approve the links for this in advance. It is a great way to “take them on a field trip” without ever leaving your classroom.

I love this resource! I have used this activity for my Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 students. They were very impressed and perplexed to learn about the culinary world in Spanish-speaking countries. The links and pictures attached to each country were very supportive since my students are mostly audiovisual learners. In addition, I appreciate the instructions given for students who are in a distance learning method. It is very easy to post it for them to complete the assignment.

Interactive maps is a great way to bring culture to the room. It is an activity you can use at the beginning of a topic to introduce something or at the end as a review. Great for in person or online or great for when you need a sub!

FRANCES C. –
Best resource I’ve bought in ages. Getting it set up in Schoology was tricky but once loaded and the link for map set up so students could connect, it was “off to the races!” They loved the lesson which I used to keep them busy for. 90 minute class while I worked with students who needed to make up missing work or who have accommodations and needed supports. I supplemented With another resource from teachers pay teachers, that was a work sheet about other countries and food. Many kids just kept watching videos and having fun and allowed them to talk quietly amongst themselves when they would get excited about something they found it was particularly interesting. All completely appropriate for my 11-year-old 6th graders.
Make more lessons like this please!!!!

My students enjoyed this activity. It was a great end of the year assignment to talk about foods and culture. We loved how interactive it was, with pictures, the map and videos.
