Need help finding appropriate Spanish songs for your classes? Using music in class is so fun, but sometimes it can be tough to find songs we’re comfortable playing or using for a lesson! While I admit I’m much more lax about the music just playing in the background while students are doing an activity, if we’re using a song as the main focus, I want it to be something that’s appropriate for them. Let’s talk about activities with music in Spanish class and appropriate Spanish songs for high school!

Activities with Music in Spanish Class

The list of appropriate Spanish songs is below, but let’s talk about what you can do with those songs! Here’s a few ideas I have for you:

There are pros and cons to all of the activities listed, but you don’t have to choose. You can use them all!

I love using Música Miércoles as a weekly routine to sneak in some geography when we discuss where the artists are from before we listen. Check out the example slide below! We also wrap this up with some simple opinions about the song – great for novices!

My favorite thing about a music bracket tournament is that it gives students a chance to hear a bunch of new songs and artists. Click here to learn more about using a bracket style tournament in your classes!

Of course, music is a great option for an activity you can do with your Spanish club. If you’d like to learn more about hosting an event with music for your Spanish club, check out the blog post here!

Of course, you don’t have to stick with Música Miércoles or a bracket – you can use them as part of a lesson plan, too! Check out this blog post for a bunch of ideas for listening activities you can do with your Spanish classes.
