Are you working on the future tense in Spanish class? This is one of my favorite verb tenses to teach because we can talk about future plans and connect! Let’s look at some future tense Spanish practice worksheets you can add to your lesson plan!
Simple Future Worksheets and Activities
Your Spanish 1 students likely worked with the simple future pretty early on! This form of future tense takes the conjugated verb form of “ir” and the entire infinitive form of the verb for the action they are going to do. If they are comfortable with conjugating the verb ir, they’ll likely be able to use the correct form of the simple future easily. If your students need some review of the simple future, here are some options for you!
- Scrambled Sentences
- Boom Cards
- Listening Activities
- Goal Setting New Year’s Writing Exercise and Bulletin Board
- Corre en Círculos Scavenger Hunt Game
- Mi Verano Close Reading Passages
You might notice that none of these are a simple worksheet. There’s lots of fun ways you can practice with your classes, so let’s put a twist on a traditional Spanish worksheet with these engaging options!
Spanish Future Tense
The main of this blog post will be focusing on future tense Spanish practice worksheets, so let’s get to it! I’ll divide the activities by regular future tense verbs and irregular verbs, just in case you like to separate them as you introduce the future tense concept for your students.
Future Tense Spanish Grammar Worksheets
Just like with the simple future worksheets above, you won’t find a lot of fill in the blank or common introductory practice worksheets here! Let’s look at three great practice options for regular and irregular future tense verbs.
First, the ¡Corre en Círculos! Game is one of my all time favorite options for Spanish verb practice. In this set, students look at a subject pronoun and infinitive on the first page, write their answer down, then find it on another clue card on the wall. This continues until they arrive at the first card they started with!
This scavenger hunt style game is a great way to get students up and moving while they are working on verb conjugation. They have to be careful to write the correct answer or they will break the loop. Here’s a short tutorial for how you can introduce the activity to your middle school and high school students!
My middle school and high school classes love this option! However, there are times where we need a different version, or I want to offer independent work to a student for additional practice. If that’s the case, I use the set of Slides or the mini puzzle option instead! In the digital version on Google Slides, students drag and drop the different Google Slides to line up the correct conjugation.
In the mini puzzle option, you’ll print the clue cards at a reduced size. This is easy with a few clicks! Then, students review verb conjugations by matching conjugation forms with the subject pronoun and infinitive until they create a little circle on their desks. Here’s a quick explanation for how to print the clue cards mini!
Of course, those are just my 3 most used ways to play with these cards. Check out 7 more ways to play ¡Corre en Círculos! in my blog post here!
Maze Puzzle Spanish Future Tense Practice Worksheets
Spanish maze puzzles are a great follow up to the ¡Corre en Círculos! Game. Students tend to finish working through the future tense conjugations scavenger hunt all at different times, so giving them a fast finisher to do next and continue working on the ending of the verbs helps them know what to do when they finish the scavenger hunt!
You can print and make copies, or assign the digital version of the puzzles, depending on students’ needs. The maze is set up as a series of multiple choice questions, but instead of choose A, B, C, or D, they will choose the correct answer and follow that path through the maze until they get to the end!

Boom Cards
Boom Cards are one of my favorite language resources for students. When working on describing future events, these digital task cards help students by giving them immediate feedback on el futuro.
Tasks include:
- review the endings
- fill in the blank
- conjugate the verb for the given subject
- decide if a statement is probable or improbable
- write the stem for the irregular verb
If you’re new to Boom Cards, they’re basically digital interactive task cards that give students instant feedback as they work on reading, writing, and listening. I love that they auto-grade and let students know how they are doing with their review! Check out my explanation page here to see how you can use them in world language classes.
